We went virtual! And it really worked. We received great feedback from our clients and partners. Almost 85% of conference attendees rated the conference from good to excellent in our follow-up survey. One piece of feedback was it would have been nice to be together to see each other and network. We couldn’t agree more, but I’m pleased with how things turned out. I thought I’d share a little background and story behind the numbers.
Once it was evident an in-person conference was not something that could happen this year, the conversation around going virtual began. Questions like: will people want to sit in front of their computer all day, how will we ensure our partners and clients receive value, are people already Zoomed out and how do we make it feel “together, apart”? We went down the path of gathering information. We interviewed clients and partners. We captured what worked at conferences we attended and what did not work. We looked outside the wealth management space. We landed on the following fact–during the pandemic, learning and equipping was still happening, and there is real value in that.
With that in mind, we put together an agenda focused on learning and equipping, and then delivered that agenda through a platform that brought us together and presented our clients the ability to explore, learn about our partners, attend sessions interesting to them, watch recordings of session they missed, and receive Continued Education (CE) credits. This was also our first opportunity to invite members of the Moneytree Software family by providing a financial planning agenda.
We want to thank our partners for their sponsorships, our speakers for their presentations and time they took to prepare meaningful and engaging content, and our clients for participating and making this a successful experience.
Preparations for next year’s National User Conference are already underway, and we are preparing like we will be together again.
