About the Conference
November 16-19, 2021
The Roaring Twenties was a decade of economic growth and widespread prosperity, driven by recovery from wartime devastation and deferred spending, a boom in construction, and the rapid growth of consumer goods. It was a time of change, when many Americans owned cars, radios, and telephones for the first time.
Fast-forward to the Roaring 2020s and Americans are experiencing a similar feeling. Bouncing back from a once-in-a-century pandemic, the world saw a dramatic increase in innovation in how technology is used in the financial service and wealth management industries. People stayed connected through video conferencing, and four out of five Americans plan to continue to use digital tools to manage their finances and are more dependent than ever before.
The 2021 Accutech National User Conference is focused on resilience, innovation, and growth for ASC’s clients. Does your technology allow you to connect with customers who now depend on digital access? Are you building relationships through digital touchpoints? Does your business have what it needs to organically grow in an increasingly competitive and crowded market?
This year, we combined the Executive Conference with the National User Conference. You can follow presentations and content in each of three tracks: executive, operations, and investments.
The American Bankers Association approved the following continuing education credits:
- CSOP: 3.75
- CTFA: 10
- CRSP: 6.25

General Session – “Automation and the Evolution of Wealth Management”
1.25 (A) ATOP; 1.25 CSOP, CFTA, and CRSP credits
Presented by Gerard Michael, President, Smartleaf, Inc. and Smartleaf Asset Management, LLC
The days of bank investment officers providing investment and trust advice along with portfolio management has evolved. It used to be that the investment officer would create a custom portfolio based on a clients’ objectives, then periodically review each portfolio and perhaps make adjustments to asset allocation, specific security swaps, or, usually near year end, look for tax loss harvesting opportunities. This manual approach is no longer consistent or efficient enough to support the growth plans of most organizations, so the use of model portfolios is becoming a more common means to streamline the portfolio management process. However, many investment officers and advisors fear that they lose control and customization capabilities when using a model portfolio approach. This session will explore how automation and outsourcing can provide wealth management professionals with scalable control, customization and superior tax-optimization for every client and their households.
